LOST MY HEART IN A MEADOWLAND from Kwilty Pleasures

I have lost all interest in sewing right now.
It’s been 6 weeks since my husband went under Hospice Care.
I’m desperately trying not to loose my mind.
Sewingnused ti be that remedy.
But loosing my life partner,
The man I love with all my heart
Hits hard!  


But I know he’d want me finish this top one day. 
The fabrics are all bright and vivid
Some older Amy Butler, some Annamarie


Lots of flying geese, but I love all the colors. 


At last Kwilty Girls Retreat I attended in April 
I sewed some of the blocks ...

KWILTY GIRLS WINTER RETREAT 2026 from Kwilty Pleasures

I made it to a Kwilty Girls Retreat!
I have missed sew much the last 6 months due to
My hubby s health. He is getting better
And finally at a place where I felt I child leave him alone.

He did habe a friend take him to lunch and check on him.
And his daughter covered one day for me
Sew nice to have some backup.
Caregiving is a full time job…
I need a raise!

This girl needed GIRL TIME.

It may have begun with my 
Wonky FG Patty quilted for me!

BYE BYE TO THE WOLF! from Kwilty Pleasures

The Kwilty Girls were one of the last quilting groups
to enjoy Wolfangel Retreat House in Cincinnatti, OH
It was a lovely mid-century modern design house,
set back from the main road, into the woods.


A welcoming entrance, lower level, at the bottom of the
spiral staricase. 


A fully stocked kitchen for eating in or simply playing games
at the huge table.



Plenty of space in the creative space!





A back porch that had seating for meal
and overlooked the wooded ravines.


A downstairs on-suite for two lucky, elderly folks, Me and Kathy
to enjoy!

Look at this STUNNNING Plaidish Quilt Top.
I think its one of the most vibrant I have ever seen.
Luccinda had pulled scraps at last years retreat
and was worried how it might turn out!

WOW!


Lucinda Miller is the maker!


This was her second Plaidish.
I love that she is using her scraps!


Lucinda felt like it wasn't as PLAID as her other one
but we all loved it just the same!!

KWILTY GIRLS GO KOUNTRY from Kwilty Pleasures

A benefit of having only 6 Kwilty Girls who retreat together
is that we can find really cool retreat houses.

This time we were near Dayton OH
but waaaaay out in the country.

The driveway was .2 of a mile back to the house.


And the farmhouse was just WONDERFUL!
I was raised on a farm, it was like going home!


The retreat house can seat and sleep eight.
However, this time we only had 4 peeps and
found the tables to be squeezed into the rooms.
We always rearrange to our liking.

2024 BEGINS WITH A RETREAT from Kwilty Pleasures

We have now been retreating for a couple years.
We meet each January, each August and have been trying
new retreat venues as we do.

This January we drove to Cincinnati, OH to
The Retreat House, Loveland, OH (suburb)




Of course the first thing we spotted was this 
wonderful welcome basket.
The white wine was in the fridge.

THE MILL HOUSE QUILT RETREAT from Kwilty Pleasures

There’s lots of quilt retreat housing options these days.
This August, the Kwilty Girls are going to stay at
Mill House, in Utica.



Kathy Guenther and I checked it out just after they opened.
Very roomy and lots of charm.

The front entrance has a wooden inlay in the floor.
It’s a quilt design and the owners
made a quilt in replica.



The sewing area is in 2 adjoining spaces
and seat 8 people comfortably!
We have 6 in our group, sew plenty of room!


Nice chairs for comfort and spacious tables.

KWILTY GIRLS WINTER RETREAT! from Kwilty Pleasures

Where does the time fly.
I can't seem to keep up with what the heck I am doing.
I guess that's because my husband has a lot of health issues
and my focus has been on him...where it belongs.
